Crooked Refs
I mean we all know that home teams and star players get all the breaks from the refs, but now we know some entire teams got special breaks from Tim Donaghy. The shit that comes from this scandal will be very intriguing.

you guys watch that joke of a soccer game with becks on the galaxy?
what was KG doing there?
and why does eva longoria kick it with posh? I can only imagine the depth of their conversations... "this dom P is a little too cold, did you see the new chanel dress i bought.." i guess they're both short skinny no talent b's with large glasses who date foreign born athletes... is that some kind of club?
anyhow, soccer is still boring. and landon donovan sucks, i could have hit that header in.

pitchfork
Even without much prior knowledge of the bands performing, the Pitchfork Music Festival was one of the coolest music festivals I've ever been to. I spent nearly all of Saturday at Union Park, and most of Sunday afternoon and evening. Here's why it was so awesome:
- Public transportation. Getting there couldn't have been easier, as the park was right off the Ashland stop on the Green Line, and only three stops outside of the Loop.
- Great music. Although I knew of only a few bands in advance (The New Pornographers and Of Montreal), I enjoyed listening to most of the acts.
- Superb planning. The festival was spread across three stages, and the layout/schedule was planned perfectly such that there was no overcrowding or volume interference at any of the shows.
- Flatstock. This trade poster festival at Pitchfork was awesome. I've always been a fan of cool concert art, and this was a collection of companies that all made cool, unique, modern posters for indie rock bands and venues.
- Affordable prices. The two-day ticket was only $35, and most impressively, bottled water was only $1!!!

... averaged a tripple doouble? Check out J Kidd's averages...
13 points, 8 assists, and 9 boards.
Plus he already has 2 tripple doubles in the first 5 games (his last game 15, 18, and 11). Why does my team still suck? (I'm pointing to Borris Diaw, I just didn't want to draft Joe Johnson again, cause then i would have had pracically the same team as last year, and that squad sucked too)
oh and why the hell do the yahoo standings not show how many games each team has played? That is really pissing me off.

Dave’s in between class draft analysis
I need a break so let’s begin…
Ballers of the World: I like this team. Paul has to step it up and prove that he’s a legit fantasy baler, but he’s got talent. Okafor is a good center. Team FT% and 3s could hurt.
Silent Assassin: pam is a sneaky manager and this team is solid. The gasol injury hurts a lot. I like the miller okur combo. Davis and korver could be steals.
Biaviians: LJ is also a solid manager but I don’t know about this team. When will kobe be 100% and who will get assists on this gunner roster? Lots of TO prone players. Plus darko is a gamble
3 O’clock: no problem leading the league in FT%. but will cassell start for the clips? Will peja wake up from last year’s coma? Could be a contender though. I like the balance.
Sex panther: the lbj nash combo is pretty sick, but can aki contend for the crown without camby putting up those sick numbers? Shaq and artest kills the FT%
Jagshemash: arenas, brand, and AK47 on one squad is pretty insane. But the rest is pretty dicey. Major problems at center, and don’t really have a dime dropping PG.
Floppy Cock: my team seems decent, but I’m not too thrilled. Could be hurting with blocks. We’ll see if diaw keeps putting up those triple double type games.
Och cinco: sorry gbz, but how do you take redd in round 1? He’s the same player as ray ray. Plus those forwards frye, Williams (out 8 weeks by the way), chandler, and diogu are stretches at best. You got tons of threes, but not much balance buddy.
Baba: I like this team. Look at all those SG/SFs. Nice steals on draft day too with bibby and smith to go with t mac and PP. interesting team.
11: this team will go as amare does. What I’ve seen of him in the preseason doesn’t look all that good. He had that one insane year, and I’m not sure he can top it. Plus magette always gets hurt.
Tenacious D: can a team lose with marion? The starbury pick seemed a bit high. This team needs an assist man but really the matrix makes any team legit.
Stunner shades: this autodraft team looks good on paper. Camby, oneal, bosh, and howard on one squad? Is reeg gunna set his lineup?
Season starts tomorrow, and as always, you gotta hope your squad stays healthy. Good luck to all.
